Marilena Gounari was born and raised in Athens. She is a psychologist and psychotherapist. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Crete and continued her postgraduate studies initially in the Program entitled “Pain Management” at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and then in the Program “Education and Culture” at Harokopio University.
He has completed training in Existential Systemic Therapy at the therapeutic and educational Institute “Antistixi” where he works as a scientific associate.
He has worked at the Greek Center for Intercultural Psychiatry and Care, as well as at the Medical Pedagogical Service of the Psychiatric Center of the Hellenic Public Health Service.
Her field of work concerns family therapy and psychotherapy for adults, couples, adolescents and their families as well as group therapy. She has dealt with the diagnosis of learning and emotional disorders in children and adolescents. She has participated in national and international mental health conferences and has written articles in scientific journals.
In addition, she is a Trainer and Supervisor of systemic psychotherapists at Antistixi.
As a psychotherapist, she participates in the process of highlighting the authentic face of the patient, acting as a catalyst in his ability to search for personal meaning in life and releasing the desire to live and conquer a life with freedom.
She is married and has a daughter and a son.
