The Hellenic Confederation of Family Systemic Psychotherapists ETHOS we are shocked by the unacceptable invasion of Putin's troops in Ukraine and we express our absolute support to the Ukrainian families who are receiving the violent attack in their country, in their homes, in their lives.


This invasion may try to justify itself in geopolitical terms, but it destroys people's lives and produces pain and misery that will not stop even if the fighting stops.
Tanks and planes don't demolish buildings, they rush human existences. We cannot, as family psychotherapists who refuse to manage the mental disorder in terms of individuality, close our eyes to the destructive consequences of the social supersystem that does not let children and families live with dreams, since it shoots them figuratively and literally. we put individual labels on phobias, anxiety and depression, since anyone who is not troubled by the surrounding situation is not only unhealthy, but tragically insensitive.

At the same time as we know that in our time there are no closed systems, the mental trauma will not be limited only to Ukrainian citizens, but will also concern the families of Russians, even the next generations, but also the people of the whole world.

As a minimum direct contribution of the systemic family psychotherapists, we undertake the mental support of the Ukrainians who are in Greece, and as members of the European Organization of Family Therapists EFTA (European Family Therapy Association) we will appeal to our Russian colleagues to express their disgust for the inhumane things produced by their "elected" dictator.
