Diagnostic Assessment of Children
At Antistixis, a complete diagnostic assessment of children is provided by experienced psychologists for issues of psycho-emotional maturity, mental functioning and learning difficulties. The diagnosis includes two different sections, the assessment and the announcement, which is not simply a formal description of any situation, but concerns the full information of the parents and the formulation of the treatment that may be required.
LEARNING ASSESSMENT OF SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN: The possibility of assessing learning difficulties (dyslexia, etc.) is provided. The early diagnosis and corresponding full information of both the parents and the child, allows and favors cooperation in the treatment, so that they do not remain in the ignorance that breeds misunderstandings and consolidates the child's low self-esteem.
MENTAL ASSESSMENT: The WISC 5 is administered with the aim of capturing the child's mental functioning.
The diagnosis of Mental Functioning is a sensitive task and its results should not be used in isolation, but as part of the overall functioning of the child, in combination with emotional intelligence. Parents are asked to be aware of the possible problem without underestimating it, but also without giving up trying to improve the child's functionality.
